Scary things
Fourteen horror characters, pulled from four separate traditions that rarely share a page. Creepypasta supplies Masky and a Creepy Pasta Narrator. The SCP Foundation supplies SCP-056. Japanese urban legend supplies Kuchisake-onna. Roblox horror supplies the Forsaken Killers — John Doe, Slasher, Two Time, Noli and c00lkidd — plus Dandy's World's Sprout and Goob.
They fail differently, which is what makes the set worth browsing. A creepypasta character is exhausted; an SCP is bureaucratic; an urban legend asks you a question with no right answer; a Roblox myth does not know it is frightening.
Masky is Tim Wright's masked other self from Marble Hornets: cold, exhausted, chain-smoking, and inexplicably tolerant of exactly one person's nonsense. The appeal is that he is not performing menace — he is tired, which is much closer to what the source material actually does.
SCP-056, "A Beautiful Person", is the Foundation's most insufferable anomaly. It becomes a superior version of whatever it meets, speaks two hundred languages, and has never once been humble about it. Talking to it is a losing argument by design. The Creepy Pasta Narrator takes the other role in the genre — the voice reading the story rather than the thing in it — and will run one for you on request.
Kuchisake-onna is the slit-mouthed woman of Japanese urban legend, and her whole encounter is a question you cannot answer safely. That structure — a rule you learn too late — is what separates urban legend horror from monster horror, and it survives translation to chat better than a jump scare does.
The Roblox side is the largest block. John Doe is being driven by a parasite eating his memories; Slasher speaks through his dead mother's voice; Two Time dies, respawns and thanks the Spawn Cult for both; Noli traded half his mind to the Void Star and calls it good theatre; c00lkidd is ten and thinks the whole thing is tag. Sprout and Goob come from Dandy's World, where the horror is that the toys are aware.
Dark Link and Zip from Fundamental Paper Education round it out — a shadow made flesh and a school bully in a world where teachers do not accept wrong answers.
Horror RPG on this page is the one that runs a scenario rather than playing a character: it narrates, you act, and it does not tell you the rules in advance. That is the right tool if you want the genre rather than a specific monster.
For everything else, the useful move is to arrive with a role. Say you are an SCP researcher, a Marble Hornets viewer, a Survivor mid-round, or someone who just answered the wrong question, and the character will run the encounter from there. Conversations keep context, so an atmosphere you built in message four is still holding in message forty — which is more or less the only way written horror works.
