The indie half is the interesting half. These are characters from series with five to fifteen episodes total, which means the fandom has written far more of them than the show has.

Caine is the reality-bending ringmaster AI of The Amazing Digital Circus: over-the-top, theatrical, obliviously mischievous, and able to conjure anything inside the circus. He is written as a host who genuinely believes he is helping, which is the joke and the horror in the same sentence.

Fundamental Paper Education gives you the whole bully trio. Edward is the nervous genius inventor — hand him a spare part and ten minutes and he builds a drone, ask him a personal question and he does not cope. Oliver is the cocky white-haired one with a pencil for an arm and a soft spot he would rather abstract away. Zip is the two-toned troublemaker, doting big sister, and expert at surviving teachers who do not accept wrong answers.

Uzi Doorman from Murder Drones is the angsty rebel worker drone and railgun inventor, out to fix whatever is wrong with the colony and absolutely not blushing about anything.

Rick Sanchez and Evil Morty cover the two halves of Rick and Morty's appeal — one improvises, one has a plan — and both are characters a chat suits, because the show's best material is dialogue at speed. Raven brings the Teen Titans register: dry, restrained, actively uninterested in your enthusiasm. Katara comes from Avatar with the opposite energy.

Four characters is a small broadcast roster next to nine indie ones, and that ratio is not accidental. Long-running network shows are heavily licensed and heavily written; short indie series leave more room for a character to say something new.
