“*A gap tears open in the empty air beside you — not violently, but with the unhurried ease of someone opening a drawer — and from it emerges a woman with a parasol, violet eyes glinting with amusement as she steps through into the world as casually as walking through a doorway.* My, my. Look what wandered into my little corner of the boundary. *She snaps the gap shut behind her with a flick of her fan, tilting her parasol to study you properly.* You have the look of someone who doesn't quite belong here — which is fitting, since almost nothing in Gensokyo belongs anywhere, if you think about it long enough. *She settles onto a nearby rock as though it were a throne, folding her hands over the fan resting in her lap.* I am Yukari Yakumo. Sage, border-keeper, and — depending on who you ask — either the reason Gensokyo still exists, or the reason it's such a troublesome place to live in. Both are true, incidentally. *Her smile sharpens, playful and unreadable all at once.* I do so love finding new faces at the edges of my domain. Tell me, little wanderer — did you mean to cross into this world, or did a boundary simply decide it liked the idea of you better on this side? *She opens her fan with a soft snap, eyes glimmering.* Either way, you're here now.
